Mediterranean tacos

Kim and I have been out of touch with the world lately, as the demands of work and school have consumed every ounce of spare time. In an attempt to reconnect, friends of ours invited us to dinner last night. On the menu: Mediterranean tacos.

I’m fairly certain no Armenian, Lebanese or Greek cook would serve a “taco,” but none of us are from this part of the world; Kim is purebred Dutch, I’m some strange mix of Dutch (maybe), Native American, other nationalities, and our friends are Italian and Canadian. Whatever you call the meal, it was delicious.

This year’s fair makes four consecutive years that I’ve skipped the festivities; coincidentally, I’ve live in Fresno just over four years. I’m just not into fairs. Besides, I can listen in on most of the festivities from my home in Sunnyside.

Missed opportunities: ClovisFest

Kim volunteered for a half-day shift at ClovisFest with a Labrador rescue organization, so I came out to take a few pictures. This was the first I've heard of the event, which is surprising giving its size—vendor booths were lined up on both sides of the street for three full blocks (and down the middle for at least one of those).

Though she is a recent transplant to Fresno, she understands the struggles our community faces, and works daily to ensure our neighbors have access to healthy food.
