Chinese Almond Cookies

Posted by KimCollier on Jan 03, 2008

I love, love, love, these cookies. You can't make easier cookies and they are always a crowd pleaser. One thing to remember though - the word "almond" is pronounced "amond." You must drop the L to pronounce it correctly :)

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • whole almonds

Instructions

Cream sugar. Add remaining ingredients. Place 1" balls 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.  Top each cookie with one almond and gently push down into ball. Bake at 325 degrees, 15-20 minutes.
