White Bread, Straight-Dough Process

Ingredients

1/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp shortening
4 tsp salt
4 cups liquid (scalded)
1 cake fresh yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water
12 to 14 cups flour

Instructions

Mix all ingredients. Let rise 2 hours. Punch down. Let bake 1 hour. Put into pans. Bake 400-425 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
