Sift and measure flour. Sift measured flour, salt, and baking powder into a bowl. Cut in shortening using a pastry blender or fork until the shortening looks like coarse crumbs. Make a well in the center of dry ingredients; add milk all at once. Stir quickly with fork until dough follows fork around bowl. Drop dough from teaspoon onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
Makes about 16 biscuits.
