Blossom Trail Cafe

Submitted by jamescollier

With the day off of work, and the temperature dipping down into the 50s last night, Kim and I decided to get up early and ride to breakfast on the motorcycle. Since we live in Southeast Fresno, Blossom Trail is a quick ride, and a decent breakfast.

We got there around 7:30 a.m., and were a bit surprised to see the parking lot almost completely empty. What I love about the cafe is that it attracts all kinds of patron, some wrapped in leather and on their Harleys, some in preppy clothes with the top down on the convertible, and yet some in full camo (no, really).

The food is standard breakfast fare, though they now offer a full menu of lunch and dinner options. Kim and I each had the french toast breakfast, complete with two eggs (we like them scrambled), two strips of bacon and hashbrowns (though country potatoes are an option); I never said it was healthy. With a cup of coffee for each of us, the bill came to $25, including tip.

The cafe is a step above Perko's, and it's much more of a destination, but I wouldn't set high expectations for ambiance (though the service is good). In fact, today I was a bit disgusted to witness a waitress guide a guest to the sink behind the counter to get soap, after he let her know that the men's room was out; several others soon followed suit.

By the time we left, the parking lot was full, as was the dining room.
