I should preface this review by referring to my previous remarks concerning The Public House. Had it not been for their lack of service, my wife and I would not have ended up at Me 'n Ed's, though we're glad we did. My previous post also outlines my thoughts on the overall theme and style of Granite Park.
I'll also note that I don't particularly care for Me 'n Ed's, but until tonight I've only tried the pizza. Victory Grill is a different concept from the pizzeria: it's essentially a sports bar with a few dining tables in the middle, all with an easy view of a television (March madness was the only thing on during our visit). In the back is an arcade with a variety of games.
The menu is pretty standard fare, but it's complemented with great service. We had drinks within a minute (again, I'm contrasting this with the 12 minutes we were ignored next door), and the serving staff helped each other out.
Kim and I started out with a pound of hot wings—I haven't had wings in a while, and these made me wonder why. Simply put, they were delicious, though if you're a wings aficionado, you might be concerned with the lack of bleu cheese and celery.
Kim had the California burger, complete with avocado and bacon; she was happy. I had the BBQ chicken sandwich, and while it had mayo (which I had requested it not have), it was a good sandwich; our server offered to have another sandwich made without mayo, but I didn't want to waste the food.
All in all, it was a positive experience. Again, the service was great, and the ambiance fits with the ballpark environment.
