Cracked Pepper in Mission Village offers homemade pate as part of a appetizer sampler. They have fantastic fare and a wonderful wine list. All that is true, but the best thing about Cracked Pepper is without a doubt the bread pudding. Crack pudding more like it. I'm addicted -- and I don't even like bread pudding. Just to let you know one of the things that makes it so good... instead of bread, the chef uses pastries and croissants. That's all I'm going to say. If you are even near Fresno, you need to try the bread pudding at Cracked Pepper.

I can second this, the bread pudding at The Cracked Pepper is incredible. We've eaten there five times now and haven't been disappointed once. The service and execution are excellent. On our last visit, one of the sides with the short ribs was a savory bread pudding. It was so good, I almost didn't order the dessert version afterward.
Almost.

I'll third this. For a while I couldn't decide who had the better bread pudding: Cracked Pepper Bistro or Limon (Peruvian/Fusion place on North Blackstone near Hooters--of all places!).
Limon has a wonderful peach & caramel bread pudding that is to die for (among other wonderful dishes).
But I've since decided the bread pudding at CPB is a tad better.

How did I miss the dessert menu at Limon - that's one of my favorite places in town. Peach and caramel sound awesome.
Layne, it looks like we have to go back for that 1/2 chicken special *just* so we can try the bread pudding.

When I went to the Fresno Magazine function at the Convention Center last year, of all the samples I tried, the Cracked Pepper Bistro Bread Pudding was the one item that stood out as the best.
