I ordered pho with eye round steak & meatballs. The meatballs were firm & chewy (though not in a bad way) & the meat was ground finer than I’ve had elsewhere (sometimes you might come across tiny chunks of unidentifiable bone or tendon, but not here). Because the meatball texture was better here than other places I would order them again. The steak was fine.
Wife ordered chicken soup. Both of us agreed that the chicken broth in her soup was better tasting than the beef broth in my pho. The chicken was in large chunks (too large to fit on the spoon) & she had to eat around a lot of bone & skin from her meat pieces. Some of her noodles in the bottom were clumped together & she described them as being like ropes of noodles. Also, the noodles were a bit soggy, not very al dente as she prefers.
Overall, we felt that both of our broths were thin compared to pho we’ve had at other places in town. Both the flavor was thin & the texture (i.e., viscosity) was thin. Also, both soups seemed light on the veggies in the broth (esp. green onion & white onion).
Be prepared for the décor. Outside there is a large amount of miniature-golf-course green painted on the fences & building. Inside the walls are Pepto-Bismol pink (or, if you want to be more charitable, Chinese-bakery-box pink). We did, however, enjoy watching Vietnamese soap operas on the television while we ate.
