Rancheros Mexican Restaurant

What's it like?
If it weren't for the great food at a great price we might not go back to Rancheros. The service is just that bad. Not the fault of the servers since there were only 2 and 1 cook but, of course, the fault of the owner or manager.
We arrived at the restaurant after church this morning and were greeted right away and shown to a table. That was the best service of the morning. These guys were totally overwhelmed by customers and unorganized. Food was brought at different times...at the least 10 minutes between the first person being served and the last person at our table of 5. Chips were never refreshed and coffee and water took quite a while. Coffee was not refreshed unless we asked. The wait staff was friendly though and we simply felt sorry for them.
Food, as usual was great. They have the best chips and salsa in Fresno and their Carne Asada dishes are tasty. I had the chorizo and eggs and they cooked that chorizo just right, not greasy and almost crunchy.
Greg and I will be back but we won't bring new people to Rancheros until they get their service issues fixed.

I've actually been going there for quite some time and have never received good service, minus the friendly smiles *after* they finally bring me basic things, like silverware. I'd say the food was pretty decent. I like that place because the location is close to my house. If it weren't for that, I'd never go back. For anyone who doesn't live w/n 2 miles of the place, it's simply not worth it.

I would have to disagree! The food is the best mexican food in the northeast side of Fresno. The service is outstanding and the wait staff is always accomodating to me and my family. It is definitely worth the trip....

I agree with patrick. i"ve been going to rancheros eversince they opened, their food is the best especially the enchilada sauce. Gregorio is a really good manager and the servers are friendly if you go to dinner and want good service request Homar, Blanca or Alma they always give me excellant service or you can also request the owner gregorio.
