Club One

What's it like?

I've been ordering off the asian menu for years now, since they opened, but hadn't had much else. On this trip i tried the 1/2 lb hamburger. as much as i've liked their asian dishes, i was disappointed with the hamburger. it clearly was not a half pound, in fact it looked like it was only part of a hamburger (the waitress even commented that it was shaped like a heart). it was dried out and fairly flavorless. i hope that was an aberration. the cobb salad was far better, and almost worth the $10.95. i know that there are attorneys and other people who work at the courts who go there all the time, and they don't all order only asian food there. definitely a rubbing elbows kind of place. crowded at lunchtime. for downtown asian, it's top 3.

I crack up a little every time I hear someone recommend an Asian dish at Club One - I mean, I'm a fan of the phad thai, but it's just not what comes to mind when I think of casino food.

I've had a good burger there, though it's been a while since I've eaten at Club One. Kim and I stopped in for dinner not too long ago, but we walked out after 10 minutes without as much as a greeting or a drink order.
