I always rate Chinese restaurants by their Tomato Beef Chow Mein, even though it is not necessarily the most authentic dish from China. But I like it, and I can usually tell whether the other food will be good by it.
Lum's used to have one of my favorites, but that was probably 10 years ago. On this last try, I got lots of food, but it was a little sweet for my taste. There were lots of veggies, which I like, but the meat was a little lacking. The noodles were done just right, a little soft and a little pan-fried. All in all, I would say better than average, but not my favorite. It is definitely a no-frills spot.
