HEY ALL YOU HUNGRY MONKEYS !!!!!
Bo and I happened upon another restaurant by chance today, an unintentional meal while running an errand in the Pavilion West shopping center. We happened upon Amir’s Kebabs and Mediterranean Food. We walked in to peruse the menu and the owner Amir was right there being as friendly as can be and offered to extend his lunch special, $7.50 beef gyro with rice and salad to anything on the menu. You know a cheap meal lover like myself could not reject a chance to get a fabulous deal like that. The ambiance was a mix of things from his native Iran (he is still pro Shah) and leftovers from the former renter, The Bon Apatite Café. Ether way, what the ambiance was lacking with its cold white tiles and panel ceiling was made up for by the warm service and delicious food. When we walked in at 11:45 in the AM it was dead, but by the time we left a crowd had actually formed that more aptly reflected the goodness of the food.
First we started with a big plate of house made hummus and pita ($4.25) that was delicious and Amir refilled our heaping plate of pita on the house. For my entrée, I wanted to try something new and since I have eaten a million Gyro I went with something that looked delectable, the Lahmajoon. Lahmajoor was spiced ground lamb with hummus, garlic sauce, and onions and it was pressed in a pita till it was crunchy… like a middle eastern Panini. It was a fantastic mix of savory and crunchy and it was all smoothed out by the cream in the garlic sauce and the wonderful cucumber yogurt dip he gave us on the house. Bo went with an Armenian classic, the lula kebab which is another lamb dish. Lula is a lamb-beef mix that is put onto a skewer and grilled like a kebab. Bo said it was “freaking delicious” and exclaimed “if anyone doesn’t try this they are retarded” so anyway, there you have it. Both our meals came with savory pilaf and a crisp salad that was actually more quality then the handful of iceberg I am accustomed to getting as a free sandwich add-on. We left incredibly full and satisfied and both our meals only cost $7.50 each.
There you have it Amir’s Kebabs (formerly Kebab Time) on the Pavilion West Shopping Center on Bullard and West. Great food, great service, great price, uninspired ambiance… over all a good experience. Go give Amir your business cause he is great and so is his food.

Amir's Shish Kabob is a gorgeous restaurant done in burgandy that radiates the warmth & hospitality of it's owner.
The moment we walk in, we always order the Baba Gonoush with pita bread -Yum!
The kabobs are grilled to perfection and the lamb is succulent. -Love the prices, too!
