Crab Cakes

What's it like?

What a pleasant experience!  We took a drive to Oakhurst to enjoy the sunshine....  My husband selected Crab Cakes and we were treated to some fabulous food.  I am a lover of escargot and will drive 2+ hours to a restaurant on the central coast to get my "fix".  I think I have just found a venue that greatly reduces the commute to my favorite!!  The escargot at Crab Cakes was tender, flavorfilled (garlic, butter...yum) and topped with gargonzola!  OH MY.  The bread was a nice crusty french and perfect for sopping up that extra golden nectar.  My husband (being it was lunch) opted for the fish and chips which he said was crispy, light and fresh.  I ordered fish tacos which came either sauteed of fried (nice to be given a choice since I prefer the sauteed over the greasy fried).  They were perfect.

Since the owners wife is known for her cakes (Sweet Dreams), we ordered a heart shaped toffee cake (and really thinking we were stupid to do so since we were completely stuffed).  It showed up, perfectly plated, with two forks and we managed to wipe the plate clean.  It was cream filled, dipped in chocolate, drizzled with carmel and topped with toffee crunchies.  Simply marvelous.

We'll be back for sure!
