I think the Berrock Shop is a local secret, that everyone does (or should) know about. The Berrock Shop specializes in, well, Berrocks. Berrock's (sometimes spelled Beirock, and a number of other spellings) is German in origin, and is a lot like a Beef and Cabbage filled hot pocket. What makes the Berrock Shop stand out from other local eateries is how everything is prepared fresh, every single day. Nothing you will eat in the establishment was prepared or baked more than a few hours ago. The Berrock Shop not only serves several different style of Berrocks (Ground Beef, Shredded Beef, BBQ Beef, Mexican, and Breakfast varieties) but they also have a full menu of Sandwiches, Salads, Burgers and Cookies and Pies. Their Chicken Pot Pie is to die for.
The restaurant itself is usually busy, you order your food at the front counter and the staff brings your meal to your table. They have lunch combos that include a main entree with a soda or ice tea, and a side item (Brocolli Salad, Waldorf, Pasta Salad, Potato Salad, etc...). The prices are certainly reasonable for what they offer, quality, fresh made food.
I would highly recommend eating at the Berrock Shop. If it's your first time, try a Berrock (I like the shredded beef) with some yummy potato salad, or the Chicken Pot Pie. Both are incredible and are Berrock Shop staples.

You've just made my wife very happy. She loves Bierock and we didn't know about this place. I can also recommend the Bierock/Berrock at Izi's at Chestnut and Butler. It's not always in stock but it's good when it is!

That's awesome Nick. I forgot to mention they also do mini berrock's for large events and they will deliver within a certain distance of the shop.

The Beerock Shop also puts out a decent cheese burger and have recently added a hot pastrami sandwich to their menu.

Beerocks are also known as runza. You can find recipes for them on www.recipezaar.com under that name. BTW, The Beerock Shop makes great broccoli salad. Theirs is addicting! LOL

I love this place! We usually go pick up a dozen bierocks and pot pies to freeze for quick meals.

It is tough to go wrong with The Beerock Shop. I am not a beerock fan myself, but they have amazing burgers and sandwiches. I particularly like their Turkey Club. The bread is super fresh as well!

You hear so many great things about this place.. and then you eat there.
At best, this place is just average.
Sorry.
