A co-worker is propped up at home for a few weeks from surgery, so our team is rotating nights and bringing dinner to her and her husband. Fortunately, she's a foodie, and has good taste buds.
Her request tonight (my turn to deliver) was sushi, and one of her favorite places to eat it is Maroo; she's been recommending the restaurant for months, and it happens to be on the route to her house, so since I was making the trip, I picked up dinner for Kim and me, too.
I called ahead to place the order—I was able to see a list of all available rolls from the website—and it was ready when I got there. Unfortunately, my pronunciation of "Alaska roll" sounded like "lobster roll" (to Maroo's credit, the server did repeat the order back, but I was hurried), so there was a mix up; since it was already prepared, the lobster roll was discounted, and the server did a great job on selling it to me. I definitely wasn't disappointed.
What I tried: the spicy tuna roll ($5.50), the Philadelphia roll ($8.50), the lobster roll (normally $11.50). All were delicious, but the lobster might have been my favorite, though I'm pretty sure they mixed bay shrimp in (which I didn't see listed on the menu).
The restaurant is beautiful inside, so I look forward to dining in.
