I had the opportunity to eat lunch with one of Fresno's elected leaders; we met at the Galleria, and after assessing the options, decided on Salsa's.
Branding themselves as a "Mexicatessen," Salsa's fills the space that Bobby Salazar's once occupied (I heard a rumor of why it closed, which I can't post lest it be untrue, but let's just say it wasn't the economy). It's clean and spacious, though that might have been because it had less than half of the patrons that George's did.
My guest opted for shrimp tacos, and I opted for fish tacos. At a total of $28 (which included one drink), we both concluded that the price seemed to be a bit high.
Service was prompt, and the tacos were definitely good. The fish tacos are filled with mahi-mahi, though it might have been slightly overcooked. The beans and rice were good.
All in all, it's a decent option if you're using a company credit card; otherwise, it's a bit expensive for lunch.
