Off the 99 on the east side, in a small town called Traver is Bravo Farms Cheese Factory. Bravo cheese is locally made with wonderful ingredients. They also use vegetable rennet (for any vegetarians who are wondering). The Chipotle Cheddar is the best!
You can watch the cheese-maker doing their job then head over to the cafe. I like to dine with people who share, so I had the pleasure of tasting the Huevos Rancheros, Chilequiles & their Bravo cheese omelet. All three dishes were full of flavor and delicious! The plates where overflowing with an abundance of food. After taking my first bite I knew I found another favorite local breakfast spot. They serve lunch too, which I've been told is wonderful but I haven't had a chance to enjoy their lunch items. The cafe is small inside but they have an open, outdoor front seating area that's comfortable during the fall & spring.
All of the staff is very welcoming; they'll even bring you extra tortillas ;-). When you're done eating and buying some cheese walk over to the fresh produce stand where they sell (mostly) locally grown produce. They have a great deal, 20 lbs of any produce they have for you to choose from for only $25. You must stop next time you're driving through on your way down south. It's an overall great valley experience. :)
