Lucy's Lair

Reviewed by lukemoritz on Nov 18, 2009

What's it like?

I went here with two of my buddies on a Sunday evening after playing a round of Disc Golf at Woodward Park. Needless to say we were three hungry guys looking for some good food. We sat down and ordered two of the Vegan meals for the three of us. You can choose four different options per meal, so we went with #1-8. The food came out on a gigantic plate with a side basket of the bread (Injera). We stuffed ourselves and they even gave us another basket of the Injera to keep going. We ended up with quite a bit of leftovers. It really is a lot of food, and great food at that.

The ambiance is good, although a little Cafe like (as in the location used to be one) but they do have quite a bit of art and Ethiopean type decorations which adds to the ambiance.

This was my first time eating Ethiopean food, so I don't have anything to compare it too, but standing on its own it is very tastey and the spices are a great break from the everyday.

Each Vegan dish is a shy under $13, and one Vegan dish could easily feed two people.

If you have never eaten Ethiopean food, it is done with your hands rather than silverware and you pick everything up with a palm sized piece of Injera bread.

Lucy's Lair is fantastic! I've had Ethiopian food a number of times before and their food is among the best I've tried. By the way, you can get non-vegan dishes there as well.

I have always wanted to go there but wasn't sure exactly where it was. My dd will be home from college in December. We will have to go there for a meal! Thanks for the heads up!
