**BRUNCH REVIEW**
Let's preface this review by saying I like Piazza Del Panne. They have a good lunch menu of salads, sandwiches, and simple pastas and the decor is nice, yet casual.
A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I stopped by after church on a Sunday morning for an early lunch and were surprised to find that they had added a brunch menu. We both decided on breakfast options: I ordered steak and eggs and my wife got a croissant sandwich with eggs, bacon, cheese and avocado. Both came with sides of country potatoes.
The restaurant was busy, but not full and it took a good amount of time to have our order taken and for our food to arrive. When it did arrive it was dreadfully cold. We sent it back, at which point a manager came to check on us and see if we needed anything else (we didn't). She was polite and apologetic, so we figured it was just a fluke. After another wait, our plates came back... still cold.
So... we tried to eat. My "medium rare steak" was a thin strip steak "well broiled" and my over-easy eggs were cold and slightly congealed. My wife's sandwich was pretty bland and the avocado was badly bruised.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt: brunch is hard, especially for a restaurant that has zero experience with breakfast items (I'm assuming it's new for them...) I hope they get it right in time, but I'll stick to lunch in the meantime!
