If you like Chipotle, you'll probably like Pico De Gallo. The premise is identical: burritos, tacos, and bowls filled with white rice, beans and a variety of seasoned meats in a casual setting. Prices are about the same as Chipotle's and the decor is in a similar vein (modern and minimal, but less corporate). Apparently, the owner is a former Chipotle employee. So... yeah, very similar.
I had a "regular" sized burrito (they also offer "mini" and "monster" sizes) with chile verde and barbacoa and their hottest salsa. The meats were very tender and flavorful and all the "fixings" (rice, black beans, cheese, pico de gallo) were fresh. The salsa was hotter than what's offered at most Freshmex restaurants and did a great job of clearing my sinuses! All in all, it was an enjoyable meal.
I'm not a huge Freshmex fan--I'd rather get some authentic tacos--but the location, friendly owners, and reasonable price point will probably have me returning to Pico De Gallo sometime soon.
