What's it like?

I have been going to this little gem at least once a week for over a year ( I think I'm somehow family now).  The owners are from France and are very warm and friendly people.  They have two locations, one just next to TGIF on First/Herndon, the other on Palm/Nees.  They offer fresh made crepes (sweet or savory), sandwiches on French bread or HOMEMADE croissants.  I have tried almost every pastry that Anthony (owner and baker) has made and have loved every one of them.  My favorite, until today was the Pan Raisin. They offer yummy breakfast and lunch combos, cakes and pies (custard with fruit),  I used to make my own cakes to take to special occasions because mine were better than what I thought I could get, but I was happily wrong.  Now I just tell Anthony what I want and he makes my cake dreams come true!  I recently saw a lemon cake that I hadn't seen before and you can bet I'll be ordering that one soon.  Today when I approached the display case I saw a 2 napoleons dusted with powdered sugar.  My friend and I split one and before I was done with two bites of it, I had them box up the other for me to bring home. I mentioned how wonderful it was to Anthony and he told me it takes TWO days for him to make the pastry for it.  This is good stuff, it's now my fav.

To order you approach the counter, and your food is brought out to you by smiling friendly staff.  Most of them all know me by name and great me accordingly. After eating there for awhile, you notice that you're not the only regular and unless someone "new" comes in, you can get your favorite table over and over.  Today it was jam packed full of people we'd not seen before, but it's all part of the fun.

They've started a discount card program, and I do believe their Palm/Nees locations offers  a discount to people who go to GB3 if they bring in their card (at least they did for awhile).  Oh... and if you want to learn to speak French, Sophie, who is Anthony's sister, offers individual tutoring.

Both places also have art from local artists on display and it's wonderful to go in and see what is new and interesting.  It's just a GREAT place.  You need to stop by.

I was just about to post a review for the same place! We often enjoy Sunday morning crepe breakfasts there. I like going to Palm and Nees when our 3 year old son is with us, because there is outdoor seating and he can be a bit more, well, like a three year old there, haha. But when eating with adults, I like the atmosphere at Cedar and Herndon. You're right, there is a 10% discount to GB3 members at the Palm and Nees store. I love the strawberry crepe!

Very good. I pronounced my order in French and to my astonishment the lady understood me, because she was actually from France. As if that wasn't enough, the quality of sandwiches and pastries that I have enjoyed there (3 times so far) are a far cry from other wanna-be fancy lunch spots. Recognize!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I walk over for a sandwich a few times a month - always a sandwich on a croissant - they are too yummy for me to get past LOL! Also always a must is to bring home a bag of day old croissants. But, you have to snag one early because they run out every day :)
