Parma

What's it like?

You can never go wrong eating at Parma. The handmade pastas are always perfect. When in season, the pasta with asparagus cream sauce is my favorite. Especially love the ability to choose several pastas, which are then accompanied with a salad and several appetizers. Tasty Italian wine selection. The owner is always gracious and inviting, greeting everyone at the door as if they were family. The restaurant is great for dinner, but also good for a quiet lunch. Really fun to sit outside when it's warm out. Parma gets bonus points for being walking distance to my house.

I'd like to know the price of the meals. What's the average dinner?

Camille,

you are looking between $17 to $35 a plate. It is not an inexpensive meal, but it is worth every penny.

This is my girlfriends and my special restaurant... This past trip, we had 2 glasses of wine (1 each), an appetizer platter ($24), Risotto de Giuseppe Verdi (Risotto wrapped in prosciutto) and we shared a Creme Brulee ($8). Total bill (pre-tax) was $77.

Parma moved to the center at the SW corner of Palm and Herndon two weeks ago. We were seated, and it took some time for a wine order. They may not be used to the expanded room size. We ordered a green salad to share, then two entrees: the duck breast and the potato gnocchi. The salad was composed of all things bitter, so there was not much contrast. But the olive oil and balsamic vinegar was excellent. The duck breast was perfect with the cherry reduction, but the addition of grilled fruit was not well thought out. Grilled peaches work, grilled apples and oranges do not work. The gnocchi was tender, the 4-cheese sauce was okay, but it was not a show stopper. I will go back, but with caveats...
