The Jalapeno Grill - CLOSED

What's it like?

 The Jalapeno Grill is in the strip mall near Costco and Winco on Shaw near 99. This is a pretty basic Mexican fast food restaurant. It’s not a fancy sit down restaurant; although it does have seating.  But, you order at the register and they bring it to you.  And it’s not a taqueria in the sense of Don Pepe’s (No Lengua).  What it does have going for it is good basic inexpensive Mexican food. 

We happened to be hungry for Mexican while at Costco on a Tuesday.  Lucky for us, because Tuesday is all you can eat carne asada tacos for 5 bucks. You heard me right – 5 smackaroos.  My husband got the special and they started him off with 4 tacos. I wanted to try something different so I ordered the grilled chicken nachos. Good, not fancy, but really good. The salsa was fresh, the guacamole tasty, and the grilled chicken was cooked perfectly in a nice seasoning.  My only complaint: they forgot the beans. However, the chicken was so good that I didn’t notice the beans were missing till I was over half finished.  When we pointed it out, the young lady laughed and told us the owner had fixed it and she couldn’t wait to tell him. It was a decent sized plate, I couldn’t finish it.  Hubby liked his tacos and probably could have eaten more than four, but he was a gentleman and finished mine off for me.

All in all – a nice experience.  Good food, nice people. Next time you’re at Costco and need a quick bite other than hot dogs you should give it a try.

We ate here again recently. 
The price of Taco Tuesday has gone up to $7.00, but includes a drink. My dad and husband both ate 7 tacos - a buck a piece isn't bad. 
I had the Alhambra (sp?) Quesadilla filled with mushrooms, onions, nicely roasted poblanos, jack cheese, BACON (always a winner with me) and your choice of meat. I chose grilled chicken. This was very tasty despite the fact that the mushrooms seemed canned.
