Twist Restaurant and Lounge

What's it like?

Went to dinner with a couple of girlfriends. Here is the low down...

Ambiance – very nice. Dark with indirect and candle lighting. Interesting (but not bad) mix of music.

Service – fine. Not great, but fine. Not overly attentive. However, in a fine dining restaurant, I do like all the dishes to be cleared from the table. They do get kudos for letting us sit and chat for over an hour after we were done. True, the restaurant was empty and they weren't waiting for us to leave to close up. But, nice nonetheless. It would have been nicer if the dessert dishes didn't sit there the whole time.

Appetizer – Crispy Artichoke Hearts with a marinara sauce. I'm not a fan of artichoke hearts, so I only tried one. I did like the sauce, and my friends really liked the whole dish.

My Entree – Spicy Ahi Poke. Very spicy and the Ahi was fresh. A very simple dish, but I liked it.

Friend #1 Entree – The Trio. Three mini sandwiches: burger, chicken, and filet served with onion rings. She said all three mainly tasted of pepper. The whole combo was just okay.

Friend #2 Entree – Prosciutto stuffed Herb Chicken with “Signature Basil Risotto.” A nice sized portion – she has lunch for today. Again, it mainly tasted of pepper. I tasted the risotto – the consistency was off, it was overpowered with pepper, and, sadly, I couldn't taste the basil. I love basil.

Dessert – Banana Fosters prepared table side and Molten Chocolate Cake. The table side prep was a lot of fun and the chef was very nice. Both are simple desserts but very tasty. They also compliment each other very well. Tasty Together.

Overall – Some was really good, some just okay. Some worth the value, some not. I'd like to give it more than three stars, but don't think it's quite four.  Maybe we didn't pick the right dishes. Maybe it was an off night. Someday, I might give it another try. For now, if there is anything I recommend going to Twist for it is the Desserts. A nice way to end the evening.
