I’ve thought of a few great reasons to come to Huckleberry’s in Fresno:
1.If you need to gain weight quickly for a chance to play the roll of The King Pin in the next Spiderman movie or Penguin in the next Batman movie
2. If you only have $7 to eat that day and don't want to eat again for 24 hours
3. If you have the mutant ability to regurgitate food like a raptor and have young mutants at home eagerly awaiting their vomitus meal.
4. If you like Man vs. Food and want to pretend you’re “that guy” while you fill your pie hole full of outrageously large portions of industrially prepared food.
5. Training for the Ever-So-American Hot Dog eating contest? I’ve found the gym, I mean the trough for you.
Here’s the pile of food I was given in the attached picture. No, the biscuits and gravy did not taste good. The potatoes were actually ok and I did eat those. I had a couple bites of biscuit for polite reasons. The fruit pictured on the right tasted like they were cut on the same board as the onions and garlic. Horrible.
The service staff did hustle like crazy and were very polite.

YIKES!! I have been avoiding this place for a number of reasons (most of which you nicely wrapped up in a bow for me LOL). Prior to your post, my Mom (our family "go to" regarding all things food related....we all says is a product of our upbringing!) went in with Dad to try their beignets. Let's just say this did NOT go well. My family makes something similar .....BUT they were raw and creamy in the inside (uncooked batter).

I've been there many times. Good food, never great. It's a massive step up from denny's and when you're taking two small kids to breakfast and not trying to punish the diners around you it's a good choice. Gourmet, no, comfortable for young families, yes.

OK.....I have changed my rating: I would move this up much higher. My Mom ate at the location near 41. I would assume things have improved now that they have moved to the Champlain location. To date, I hsve eaten there twice (once with Fresno Bites) and was plesantly surprised. No, its n ot a 5 star but it is a HUGE step above Denny's. My husband and I had the catfish (opted to have it deep fried) it was actually better than the Cajun restaurant in the Gas Lamp District of San Diego. I wan't impressed with the salads but the breakfast entrees were pretty good. Oh.....and they managed to recover from the beignet disaster. Yummy!
